Over the last couple of weeks, there has been lots of work done to improve Apex. I'd like to take a minute to cover a couple of those changes with you!
First, we have completely revamped the look of the site. Now it is as easy as ever to access the resources needed to make and run through a routine/workout, learn about muscles, and view exercises.
The Overview page now includes a new Card Tab to access your workouts. We have changed our mind on editing workouts as sometimes you could be in a hurry to just log your Workout without realizing that you logged the wrong exercise, weight, sets, or reps. We all make mistakes, but we all fix them!
Second, we have changed the way exercises appear while construction routines or workouts. It was clunky, before where multiple names could appear. For example "one arm row" could appear multiple times because of different tools, such as kettlebell, dumbbell, or resistance band. While this is far from what we want to implement, constructing routines and workouts will be much simpler.
Third, while mobile is a big part of our daily lives, it also follows us to the gym. We use it to listen to music/podcasts, check the time, and track our workouts. While we, unfortunately, don't have our mobile app ready to launch yet, Apex is mobile-friendly via your browser. We know this is not ideal, but we ask for your patients in building out this platform. For us, you must know Apex can be accessed anywhere with the same easy navigation that you would get from an app.
As we move through the summer months, I'd like to give you a run down of our next 6-8 weeks of work.
- Introducing search functionality for Muscles, Exercises, Routines, and Workouts
- Notes function*
- Releasing an early version of a mobile app for Android
- More Exercises and Stretches added to the database
- More information pertaining to Muscles
- Animations of Muscle locations; improved renders
- Costs associated with sports, i.e. gear, fees, energy, and so on.. :)
With Notes, you will be able to write quick thoughts about the routine or workout. Was the workout hard or easy? Did it take too long or just the right amount of time? What does this routine focus on? Did you feel good or bad that day? As you see, the mind's ability to analyze knows no bounds. We feel this self-check will add value to your understanding of running workouts and setting up routines.
This is our standing list and things will deviate a little, but these are our goals.
If you would like to see a feature introduced to the platform, please send us a message through our support page or connect via social media.
That's it for now!
